I dreamed that D and I were in a layer of reality that wasn’t exactly false, but it was very limited. We somehow realized that a larger layer was available and managed to get into it, but were immediately sent back by …. cats? The cats were fighting a war in the larger layer to protect the sub-layer that we were in. The cats were surprised that we’d crossed over and wanted us to stay out of the larger layer. It was not safe. I associate these cats with ships, like seafaring ships.
I have three cats. None of them appear to be fighting a war; they're awfully lazy for that.
I think this dream may have been inspired by some of Palyne's writing.

Hey k -- are you sure you haven't been playing The Cat Returns while you sleep - a kind of lucid dream waker trigger thingy ? Or maybe you have been watching Maru the Japanese cat on Youtube ?
That was one very funny dream and I loved your title. The whole thing got plenty of giggles among 2 consenting adults at this end of the inner layer !
It went well with the capcha for this page - 2 mesards. What am I in your dream - get me out of here !
Ha, I do entertain myself with Maru and the Lolcats from time to time, but I also have three of the little beasts and perhaps one of them was stomping on my sleeping head as I dreamed this :)
I've always theorized that cats have a very intense life in some other reality, and that's why they are so frackin lazy in this one. We are really just the place that hosts their bodies, which they allot a few brain cells to, when they're not completely asleep, for fun and the profit of being worshipped properly now and then.
Did I ever tell you that one of my former cats actually took me to her dream world? She had one claw slightly in my scalp. Every time I would start naturally falling deeper than her "layer" she would tighten it ever so slightly and the pain would just barely bring my state of mind higher so I could remain there. After quite awhile of this, she over-corrected when I was falling fast and the pain made me wake up entirely. I opened my eyes in the barely dim light of the room and looked right into her eyes. And knew that she knew that I knew that she knew, LOL.
I am finally able to get past the bleeping comment CAPTCHA on blogger again, it pretty much killed my participation in everything for awhile because I could neither read nor hear the darn things well enough.
As to the cat dream, I take such things literally enough since, after all, why not? :-)
PJ--cool! What happened in the cat dream world?
Yes, the CAPTCHA thing irritated me mightily, too. Glad you're back :)
